I had a decade old gaming pc with the 1070 that could chugging along (must live 2 more years), and a 1 year old windows 11 laptop I bought with decent enough specs for a non gaming laptop
(and my switch 2 for console gaming, but I have only bought kirby air riders thus far for that)
I want a new computer, I know I need one, but any desire to buy one kind of died with the ram price hike
almong other bullshit computer part price hikes
I would never give up having an actual PC, I do too much random shit that having a proper setup is nice for

I only had a laptop in college, it was fine
Same with phones, people who buy phones more than once every 4-5 years are insane to me

Pika, the pone thing is less crazy if you buy flagship phones and trade them in (Note I don't do this)
because then your cost is about the same as buying one new phone every ~4 years or w/e

I also don't think you should buy the flagship product for anything ever, it is always overpriced
I agree, moving stuff over to a new phone and getting it setup up from scratch and learning all the little different things
it has none of the fun of a fresh Windows install

I also prefer manually transfering things because I am comically old
All the fun I used to have on android with my Nexus 5 and then with my LG and sony phone are just dead
so I just plug my phone into my pc to move files
I also do not believe in doing payment plans

the most preformant games i play are cyberpunk 2077 and cities skylines 2. both run fine on my 2016 laptop, but yes do need to upgrade probably soon

ipad/ipad mini are the only real multipurpose tablets anymore
all the android/Amazon ones are aimed at being indestructible kid toys
actual drawing tablets are good, but they have their own purpose

there are no FOSS consumer launchers, only professional ones for PoS terminals and the like
you can probably find something fine from a few years ago, you can get to work
but there are just no actual tablets being made with real specs
