Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 My actual computer plan for a while has been to wait for the next consumer chipsets, and go all-in on a big refresh of my setup and it sucks that it looks like that won't be until 2028 now
not for me
cries in AM4
yep, at this point it was a mistake to skip AM5, esp since I doubt consumer AM6 will be that great
>AMD is calling Zen 6 (AM5) Morbius
yeah, I can't upgrade to that

Visa plugs its payment network into ChatGPT, letting AI agents shop...
Visa is embedding its payment network into ChatGPT, allowing the chatbot to shop and complete transactions for users.
apnews.comno you're not
nice try
Anthropic larped so hard about how great their new AI version is, that the US banned it
their whole marketing angle for Claude is genuinely cringe
they've spent the last month+ trying to get it banned
they did everything in their power to do it
it's a play to pump their stock
writing DAILY blog posts about how as soon as they release it the endtimes will happen
and they keep edging, warning that "any day now" they'll release the actual model
but in the meantime they'll release one only 90% as strong to give humanity a chance
I hate being anti-Anthropic, but their CEO, their entire company, and all their weird cult of Claude people
can be fired into the sun

Seeing normal Americans/Canadians interacting with a European like Fire was cool in-person
and the World cup is that x1000
Everyone is just fascinated by them

that german dude on twitter is great
I didn't consider this, but someone I know who runs a brewery near one of the soccer stadiums had a ton of challenge coins made
and is just handing them out to cool Europeans
everyone is just completely enamored by all the foreign tourists

Weird, I wonder if it's to combat scammers editing prior posts or smt
Yes I have seen that, because some accounts get tagged as spam by discord from actual spambots on the physics club server
YouTube may expose your real name if you share videos. Copying the share URL of a video while logged into a channel with your real name will expose that name to anyone who clicks your link. This can be disabled in privacy settings. https://t.co/HtudbjBMuG
That's an awesome new feature
See Spooky's post in politics chat where he mentions people have the "I have nothing to hide" mindset so they willing give away their privacy for zero reason
Google has no idea how people actually share things
Amp is a fucking disaster
and stuff like this is based around the concept that people use the Share arrow thing to send links somewhere they don't intend on interacting with
Instagram and tiktok do it too, so it's not just Google
but compared to how photosharing works.... it just makes no sense to treat links this way
Apple/IOS at least used to do it better, where long-pressing would bring up the PiP chat window of where you were sharing it, and let you compose a msg
same way Twitter does with Xeets/replies
and god forbid you try to share a weblink from within Google
oh nvm, they've replaced that last feature now with some new Google Gemini thing
that doesn't work, so the button just makes your mobile-browser load forever
