https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06-05/nsw-police-officer-sentenced-jai-kalani-wright-death/106762426 Someone drove a stolen motor bike into a police officer's parked car, and died. But because the thief was of aboriginal descent (not that you could tell from her pictures), the officer has to do community service, and lost his driver's liscense. This has been marked as a victory since supposedly it is the first time a trapper has been charged for a death in custordy of an aboriginal. And apparently it still counts as "Death in custordy" when said aborigine is fleeing the traps, and hasn't been caught yet.

Just had a thought. Not necessarilly a "this makes me feel old" thought, but a "wow, things have changed". There are now 20-year olds who never had to deal with people randomly quoting Monty Python at them, on the street or on the internet.

"But what about Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy quoters" you ask. Those people are still around, but they have never been as numerous or omnipresent. There's still a good chance you can live a full life without running into one of those quotes, but there's also a good chance you will.

What? I see Monty Python being quoted all the time still.

In band class, I did have people punch you in the back and say "nobody expects the spanish inquisition!" but maybe that was just bullying
