Bookclub with meetings is optimal for a show like this
As a personal rule, I don’t rate things before I’ve finished them, and I enjoyed galactic heroes so much that I broke that rule
That said it is a little weird to be in a group thing like that and not talk at all

Damn, that was a good recommendation. Never heard of it till now, and its so refreshing after watching yet another isekai-litrpg-power fantasy
Remake for now since thats what I could immediately find. I found the original after about 3 episodes of the remake, so ill watch the original after finishing the first season of the remake
Keep in mind that the remake isn't finished, and is paced very differently than the original
the remake is pretty good on its own, and I think it definitely captures the themes of the original
it is shorter (albeit still quite long) so they move stuff around and truncate some of the slower inter-arc stuff from the OG
Personally my recommended watch-order if you're doing the Remake first is once you've finished DNT, watch 10 episodes of Dexter's Laboratory, then go to episode 40.
Dexter's Lab is necessary to watch since Dexter's Dad is the middle ground of Admiral Dad. He is 50% OVA Caserne, and 50% DNT Caserne. Watching the OVA without watching Dexter's Lab will make the character design differences too jarring.
I might just go down memory lane and watch all of Dexter's laboratory. Used to love that as a kid, but could only get the channel at my grandparents place
