so I get why people sub
Loveland
please for the love of God
Ma subbed and offered to add me to her family so I get that “free”
do not waste your life watching ads
adblock or sub
I don't care which
but do one
Ads have gotten so bad
It’s ridiculous
the lazyiest approach is to just use Brave to watch YouTube on mobile, if you don't want to fuckaround with revanced or newpipe or w/e
or Firefox mobile if you're a degenerate
Anyone who doesn't adblock is almost inhuman to me
There was a point a decade ago where you could sort of pass it off as not being a big deal
but at this point you can't "just ignore them"
the web is fundmentally unusable with ads
I pretty much stopped watching YouTube on my TV because the ads there were so terrible
adblock
I’m lazy
It was easier to just not watch on the tv
any smart TV (google, Amazon, w/e) will have YouTube+adblock apps
I mean, if it doesn't matter it doesn't matter
but like, you already have downloaded the YouTube app on the TV
I mean, like I said Ma gave me her premium family subscription
just download a different app
Samsung App Store on tv is also ridiculously laggy and tedious to use ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You're in luck, YouTube's layout has already continued to change for the worse for years at this point

the reddit app layout was never usable by my standards
when they killed their API and made 3rd party apps worse, my reddit usage fell 99%
I just use a browser tab when I need it
Reddit app has never been great
The only thing I use the Reddit app for is notifications for a few select things
yeah like Polu said
these two are great
Vencord
Vencord is the cutest modification for Discord
vencord.devYou use this to patch your Discord client, and then it is completely integrated in your normal client
Since one of the main uses is for grooming kids, it has to be deadass simple
all the other ones had seperate patchers or you would have to reinstall after every big update to re-inject code
Vencord is really nice
Just nintendo online
to answer the poll
unless we count my phone plan as a "subscription" (I don't, shit like that are neccesary bills)
You can avoid most of them by pirating media
Same!
I think even if we extend it to subscriptions you do not pay for, the most I have ever had at once is like 4
one of which being MAL supported because Polu bought 3 months of that for me for my birthday because he though it'd be funny
Replying to Phijkchu_Cynnydaquil #vinnyg Do stuff like twitch subs/patreon things count
Vinny, how many individual Twitch/patreon subs do you have?
Just curious, I also agree that is basically one monthly subscription for counting purposes
Would you count AppleCare? their insurance/warranty thing
Do we count normal insurance, since technically I could have tried to not pay for insurance for my apartment
and that is a yearly "subscription"
I would just get kicked out if my building asked for proof of apartment insurance
Is that different in Canada Pika? Is it renters insurance to protect you or to protect the person you're renting from?
Replying to Kribbles #kribbles1 I don't really know what AppleCare is, but I think something that is required like, renter's or car insurance doesn't count as a subscription. (edited)
I don't own Apple stuff, but it's a weird hybrid warranty thing mostly, you pay monthly and if your shit breaks they give you a new one
Protect me, but I think its required by ontario code that you have to have it
so the building insists I have it
but they never actually checked
Some buildings might be more proactive in actually checking idk
mine just never did
interesting, I haven't rented since college and I know more places are starting to add more red tape
renters insurance was 100% optional then, though I think some buildings sorta prefered it to filter out the poor
