and given how much they were fighting to keep this information private, I give it a week before autists connect the dots and they figure out who is siphoning $1M+ of parking funds for themselves
Spooky Phijkchu general
they pay some non-existent company for "parking enforcement" nearly 140% of all parking revenue, not to include the school paying for maintenance/infrastructure and any sort of bus/shuttle services

is there a reason why @polu is randomly friending me? I'm not that likeable of a person.
brave of you to come forward with this. I too am a victim of a random friending from polu. Stay strong!

too many awful winters last 5 years
I think it was 2019 but I think of that one winter where it snowed 3 feet in a day and US-41 shut down. It took us 3 days to get out of our neighborhood lol

I have always love the aesthetic of major cities being pummeled with snow. I got to see Boston hit with a nor'easter and it's just so fun to see a big city grind to a halt.
Kribbles general
This was the nor'easter in Boston. Honestly, I got my ass kicked by the storm and I had to pull over and wait it out lol. My ex was mad at me for not believing her storms on the east coast can get bad, but honestly I'd never had a bad one here before or since.

Osceola and Taramack. Never heard of Osceola, though. I know Taramack.

One of my goals is to do a research study on the copper country strike in 1913. I have a lot of notes on it and it's really fascinating. Also there's, like, zero information about it online, so it's a niche to be filled. The only problem is a lot of the information is still only on the magnetic newspapers up in the Michigan Tech archives, none of it has been digitized yet.

I had to re-educate myself that "no trespassing" actually means "no trespassing" because the UP means "no trespassing during deer season only"

I only know Ontonagon as the last city before endless wilderness in the porkies and where we stock up on food before going on a week-long hike lmao.

The extra tidbit is that they lost this pot so they were asking around and some finnish family was using the pot even though they knew about it being used for cannibalism, saying "it's a good pot". Something similar to that.

This one's my favorite "um what the fuck" story that has no more information
7 marten pelts today would be around 400 dollars. Someone definitely got scammed

I love finns. Such a fun group of people. I wish saunas were used properly elsewhere. I would see people in Detroit gyms with jeans and using their phone in the sauna. Excuse me
Kribbles general
Sorry, reminiscing a bit more. I was part of the gymnastics club at MTU and the president was a crazy Finn and he was notorious at the dorm saunas for making it insanely hot. I first sauna'd with him and thought it was normal and people were genuinely afraid or irritated by him lol. My roommate joined us once and when it got too hot, he ran out of the sauna and he got first-degree burns on his body since he didn't crab crawl his way out. We were laughing so much, went and rolled around in the snow after.
