I can relate. I've been using a six-year old version of Firefox (because I wanted to use websites that still ran Flash), and they still nuked all my extensions. Didn't know they could disable extensions on old browsers.
I ended up buying a liscense (for 99$ AU) for an adblocker that ran (I think at root level) since my computer was so old that none of the free adblockers were available.
I assume it was Adguard that you bought, I actually wish they did a better job marketing themselves
because I think they're WAAAYYY better than PiHole
and people shill piHole an absurd amount, despite it being kinda mid
