My class was one of the demo test classes for giving students laptops
I don't even think it was chromebooks yet, don't know if they existed
at least in Canada I was one of the first students apart of that experiment
I think it was a lenovo thinkpad
This was grade 9 for me for the record
I think actual adoption of chromebooks started once I graduated
yeah that would track then Polu since we are the same age demo, and you guys just getting them earlier because you went to a private school versus me just being a testcase

When I was teaching AP Calc last year I gave a take home test with an ODE on it. This one group of kids (all of whom were already failing) handed in identical tests where they all used Runge-Kutta to solve a separable ODE and reported me to admin when I asked them to replicate it
twitter.comLeg if anything this sucks for you and I more than future generations because we have to fight people who actually know what they were doing to get positions
There will always be 5-10% of people who actually give a shit, and those people are going to be pretty set once standards testing is modified to deal with the bulk of people who have degrees with zero skills
Are they not doing that
I mean, its just a numerical method for solving ODEs
which is why AI spits that out as how to do it when you ask
Physics based coding course that was a requirement for my math phys degree
and it was relevant in my stars course, although it was not taught
