this is why you lose control. you have to pander to a bunch of shareholders who dont care about your company beyond profit. usually short term profit.

a private company can do things that arent even profit driven, like adding features or restrictions, making decisions, that stand to gain no profit at all

steam is great example, and they are constantly being pressured into going public but wont. but they have monopoly power, thats why it works

the only thing you really get out of going public is an injection of cash, but if you are able to make a steady profit, the "advantages" of going public just seem pointless to me
