there was a joke that ppl would find out about black souls through sseth or someone like that eventually, unfortunately for the fans it was much worse

oh that explains why one of my friends started sending me black souls memes
i cant really pinpoint exactly what happened but there was like a bunch of tweets that went viral and I guess people just looked into it

When you make a steam game, Valve wants you to mark various potentially controversial or rating changing content; there was one for prejudice against groups of people, which we flagged as yes due to how certain people in bendy town refer to Gent. Germany bans all games like that due to wide reaching Anti-Semitism laws
Garbage general
Yeah, it's funny. I don't think this game has any outright Anti-Semitism, but Germany wants none, so Steam takes the easy route and over filters.

If you can entertain me a little more though, how much of the game gets sent to Valve/Steam to actually be reviewed? There was already a couple things that annoying said within the first hour of the game that would have had me clutching my pearls if I was a couple notches more sensitive
Sean general
how much of that stuff is actually allowed before you get banned (idk what the better word here is, sent for re-review? barred from sending it in?), was that something you guys thought about deliberately
Garbage general
We have no idea, or at least I don't. I'll answer this personally, and not as a Dev for this part, but I think steam takes a laissez-faire approach unless it touches on a big societal no no, (outright racism seems fine, but encouraging or inciting for genocide would be a no likely) or stuff involving minors or lack of consent. I don't think this game reaches any of that level, but we did at least consider what the public would think for some material, but usually decided to go with what we thought Gent would do. Steam has historically struck down on things like Rance, also one big Japanese publisher had a game I can't remember but it got removed involving an underaged character.

"max-core" from what little I know of that person sounds scary
I'm like a more evil version of that one evil cool person you're thinking of

it's a strange web, I was part of a steam curator group that would like send out emails to devs and stuff to get free games a long time ago
