Replying to legorhin #jazardly I love the cookies that are a maraschino cherry surrounded in chocolate cookie
these look good
they remind me of black forest cake sorta, if you were to add coconut
I usually have peanut butter blossoms at Christmastime, too
this is what I see for shortbread
they remind me a bit of chesspie squares, but more plain
Yeah, the pieces are very blocky and taste very plain
but they are very good
the most classic Christmas thing my family always did, was get those tins of simple butter cookies
those are nice because you can eat a ton of them
I forgot those cookies existed
the tins are littered everywhere though

I've only ever had plum pudding that was a glorified fruitcake
that might be a fun one to try making though

I think most british deserts/pastries suck in general
bread putting is "british" and it's probably their best desert
but it's never something I'd ever go out of my way to eat
I've gotten it a few times for free at restaurants or w/e, and it's good enough to warrent trying if you never have
but I think other sweet&condensed deserts do it better
