I'm back to ask a strange productivity question. Does anyone know how to drag overwrite in Windows 11?
In earlier Windows versions, I could drag a file on top of one with the same type to overwrite / replace it.
That was a GUI option?
I don't think I've ever used or considered that

I think it was removed in a windows 10 update at some point. I remember being able to do it in the past. Also my win10 computer used to be win7 so maybe it was a thing back then.
you have one set of values, you want to assign to 100 different files, in a folder of 1,000+
I think your better bet is to copy those 100 files you want to change, into a subdirectory, and batch overwrite
rather than using the gui imo
Yeah I'm trying to do pretty much exactly that.
well good luck, I really don't think that was ever a default feature
possible it was an addon that came with winSCP or some FTP client
that baked itself into the Win10 context menu
I really don't think it was default, possible it was a reg flag that was dropped at some point

Yeah I imagine a lot of people complained when they accidentally replaced files, since you can't get them back easily.

If you are outside of those major cities, Canada is pretty nice
