Over analyzing Avatars discord says pirates were cut along with great divide and haru

they did a small great divide type thing

much shorter though

Haru was probably cut because that scene was memed to death from M Nights movie

they did the Iroh captive sequence well

and the white lotus setup wasn't overdone

honestly, Northern water tribe was the weakest part of the season

in terms of story adaptation

skipping the air temples was replaced with more flashbacks

and it's a fine styalistic choice, to give more insight into Ang gradually

(does a better job than his awful acting for sure)

Zuko V Sokka and then V Aang isnt choreographed that poorly

the flying bison cut with sokka screaming is funny

for her second time waterbending Katara bends a wave of water from 200 feet in the air

the cuts to the flashbacks when Aang goes into the avatar state with Gyatso seem odd. They need something to make it seem like a flashback

this show is littered with ADR

Aang ends the first episode with "Im the avatar. and this is just the beginning" but i would have really fucking loved it if he said Im the avatar and you gotta deal with it

I dont like them learning about the avatar state this early

it makes it seem like s2e1 wont be visited in season 2 (assuming they are gonna do the whole series) and thats an important episode

they keep the 3 years of zuko being banished timeline intact

Kyoshi telling Aang about the avatar state and then posessing him to defend Kyoshi (from Zhao AND Zuko on different fronts) is interesting and just totally steals that beat from Roku which is makes more sense for.
