I don't know, I think most people say that
the alt form looks kind of silly, in official art anyway
the normal form has a strong posture and dominating precense

The only official art I remember of Giratina are movie posters, which are Origin form, then there's the distortion world art, and then this one, all are Origin as far as I remember.

Rayquaza got a new form along with Groudon and Kyogre, Reshi and Zek got new forms too and a lot of content, even Kyurem got an uplift. Giratina didn't get anything in Legends or Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl.

I think he and Ho-Oh have the best legendary shiny colors.
If you count Mega or Primals, then Groudons is good too with the black and yellow.
