There are missible things in 01, but replaying the game if you want to see them is way faster since you just beeline for that stuff
and you know the optimal strategies at that point so combat is faster
Polar if you somehow catch up to us for Rance X (you probably have a year) and want in on the tiny, pirate, polu, pika bookclub chat let me know lmfao
The odds of that are extremely low, I have a terminal slop addiction sadly
We just finished (/ are finishing Rance Quest (the 8th game)), and have to do 9 which is probably the start of next year sort of thing

Every single Rance game plays differently (except 4.1 and 4.2 which are essentially parts of the same continuous game)

In terms of pure gameplay, I think I would rank the games as 03 > vi > Quest > iv > 01 > Sengoku > 5D > 02 > 4.2 > 4.1
Also vaguely similar to my opinion on ranking overall not just gameplay, except 01 moves up to 3rd place and iv probably goes below Sengoku?

I was talking about something similar yesterday with some friends, in regards to call of duty, im ok if a dev goes out on a limb to add a new mechanic or change gameplay in a way because theres a good chance itll be at least interesting
But im sure without a way to temper it down and refine it in a sequel it stinks. Also since its an RPG im sure it could make a 60 hour or longer game into a real slog if you hate the gameplay

01 is not actually that long, so it honestly is a good intro to the server to see if you like the character/humour
In terms of length based on what I know (not including 9 and X, I have no idea but X is huge apparently), Sengoku (See all CGs) > Quest (See all CGs) > 03 > vi > iv > 01 > 0.2 ~ 5D > 4.1 ~ 4.2
If you want to 100% them, Sengoku and Quest flip, the rest of them are just the 100% time or 100%* (skipping super end game boss that is not tracked and would take a lot of grinding/effort)
Just looked up a rough play time for 01 is 10 hours, which I will probably go way over
But I didnt buy them so I cant really track them
01 is maybe accurate, you can trust none of those rough estimates
half of them use cheat engine or a guide, if you are playing blind you are usually going over the online estimated time
Yea i always assumed those time to beat things are done by people skipping all possible dialog and having prior knowledge of encounters
I think they are fine for not RPGs

that's my go-to example of a kids series that aged up with its audience
the first couple books are written for kids and are like 200 pages
and by the end of the series, they're full-on YA 400 pagers

Yeah I think the author said it was originally a story he wrote for his kid to get him to sleep and then he just continued it for a decade
If I was home I’d show how thick the books get as the series goes
But yeah I liked it. Mistborn is awesome too. Its kind of funny though, vins character arc feels a little tropy in a I’m not like other girls, I just have to wear this dress for the mission type of way. But it works so I still like it its just funny to think about
So I think it might genuinely be impossible to run AR test as a non school entity.
