Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 the factorio town building piece seems kinda cancer though
I think people misunderstand why factorio is popular
Why people like that concept
It's cvcoming from the people that have never played modded minecraft/tekkit
"ohh people like converyr belts and resources being pumped yea!"
I don't really know how to explain it, I don't want ot use the word "soul"
but if you've played tekkit/modded mc, you can understand factorio was specifically made from a place of understanding to scratch that itch and does so well, the managing all lines up
but every clone and every time someone tries to create their own system
it comes off hollow and tedious
especially if it's a half baked system
the only time that type of gameplay feels good is when its heavily tuned and well made
I don't want to sit down for 2 hours to play my gacha games super shitty half baked factorio
because that gives ZERO of the dopamine actual factorio/modded mc would
at a basic level, people like supply chains, raw material--->processed material -->final good
what people don't like is tedious inventory management and 10 different variations of the same thing
bbut its just going to be tedious and half baked, itll be "oh this same structure gives the purple kind instead of the red"
factorio you have to manage multiple resources from multiple areas and the way of gaining many of those resources varieis a lot
modded mc, youre combinging multiple types of systems that acqire your item in question then piping them in/out with different items etc.
this system seems to just be, oh this one generates slightly differentyl!
wow!
most games people like, whether conveyor belt based like factorio, or trade route based like Stronghold, Anno, Setterlers, cities skylines, openTTD, etc.
have SHOCKINGLY flat resource trees
and from the little I saw of Arknights 2, they were not doing that
im not saying its super flat but from what ive seen it seems pretty basic
and it's a sinking feeling with a gacha, that it's going to be a time sink without any sort of satisfying payoff
which to me, just comes off as a chore
its most likely going to be the equivalent of doing your quest or grinding mats in any other gacha
except instead youre playing factorio and doing clash of clans-tier wait 12 hours
which i have absolutely zero interest in too
I liked the basic tower defense gameplay of 1, I thought it was a good fit for a gacha
this gives me serious concerns about the sequel
that + you still have to run around and """explore""" and pickup resources
I am curious to see what out-of-touch chinese slaves make
when told to emulate factorio
I think that's genuinely going to be interesting
because like you, I don't think they'll get how to make it fun and not tedious
i had a little interest before in this game but ive lost all interest now
I've been giving every gacha a try at the very least
but if they can't be played fast paced
I'm out
the stupid dress up one Max, there are unskippble micro-cutscenes when you perform pretty much any action
fuck that
starfield
sorry have to sit in my ship
Starfield had their shitty Factorio machanic too!
ok Max
Obsidians secret fallout game
turns out to be a gacha
can a non-weeb gacha even succeed
cookie run kingdom is the closest
but thats still korean
coookie run is pretty massive
though mostly with women and children
seeing adult women talk about their sexual fantieis with these anthromorphised cookies is something
media.tenor.com
I had no idea it looked like this
I just assume all mobile games are either weebshit or look like clash of clans
i mean like spooky
u would right
maybe not blackie
but that trump cookie in the top left
you know making a gacha aimed at kids
is pretty ddiabolical
"mommy can I have 10 dolllars to spend on coookie runnn"
the amount little kids spend on vbucks is also crazy
those $50 and $100 cards in the store are always selling through
my autistic stepbrother for like 3 years straight
spent every christmas and birthday money
on vbucks
(my dad now uses his account)
so it was likea reinvestment
that account unironically probably has 1k+ of skins
Yeah, I guess valve kind of got me when I was young too, buying stuff in tf2
All I know about Cookie Run Kingdom is an autist telling us the lore is sick and twisted.
and like kirby
peak tf2 game night

I dropped the 1st game specifically because i did not like just playing a tower defense game. It might be samey but i just like the 3rd person action combat, no matter how many different games i've played that are that. and i also like the running around exploring stuff. it was my favorite part of genshin and wuwa, and was the best part of BOTW and TOTK.
now the factory stuff idk. I am not a factorio fan, i always get bored after an hour or two. I dont like trying to make some efficient factory production line, it just doesnt scratch anything for me. So i might be the odd one out, but i actually would hope the factory stuff in AK Endfield is just a basic thing you dont have to think about very much.
>best part of botw
thats a weird way to describe the eventide island and master sword trials
those were good but not my favorite parts so yes i rank the general exploration better than those experiences on their own.
@Spooky Phijkchu would you play a bloons gacha
