soda is a better term because 'soda' is mostly unique to the soft drink, while 'pop' is used for many other things and its common usage as a verb also damages its legitimacy as a proper noun

Replying to reorruatrnte #toughbrook soda is a reasonable term that can be used both generally and colloquially coke and pop work mainly only colloquially which coke speakers recognize so they will often use soda meanwhile pop speakers are just stupid and will try to use pop for both
