Possible, it looks like the 5 guys who made it had a game design idea they were going for

and couldn't execute at some point during development

I got this in my recommended and was like "hey if it used to suck ass but is far better now and it only costs 13.99 currently I might as well pick it up"

and yeah it held up

I don't think it's like the end all be all in terms of quality games but it was easy to pick up and fun to get better at

on the other side of things I will say that the game becomes much easier once you realize how absolutely broken the parry is

there's a gimmick where enemies will block you and then parry you if you mash buttons too much but you can also just parry their parry and completely nullify the gimmick that's meant to stop you from being a moron with aggression

and the latter two bosses can also be cheesed entirely just by walking at them and waiting to parry

intentional game design is that you get set to your third combo hit after you land a parry and if you do heavy 3 then it's a launcher

and then you can juggle the bosses

the juggles don't last forever but any extended combo will put the bosses into their "I am going to try to hit you" mode in which case you can just parry again and then reset

so I guess bandainamco just did the thing they do with digimon games and they just like

jumped to another project
