-Has powers/abilities stemming from the fact that he came from another world
other than the missing world change

I think that second point is mis-stated
it's not power/abilities from that other world, so much as it is perspective
I found an example of a comparable show
but you would also call that a native isekai
the reason Kazuma is so engaging in Konosuba
are you sure you guys aren't just thinking of things that have a "game-style" fantasy
is not because of some Earth power or his or Earth knowledge

Kazuma is engaging because he is a straight man in the strange world a lot of the time
same with the harem
and how it's setup
because he is from outside the strange world
harems are not inherently isekai's though
things can share tropes without being the same thing
I don't think tropes make it an isekai
I think the nature of Bell's character in that world makes it one
but it's a native isekai, because to Pika's point, there's is no world change
But using the term isekai in reference to danmachi is misleading. If anything, I agree that danmachi is set up similarly to a lot of isekais with what tropes they share, I just think then instead a new term should be made for both the isekai shows you are comparing to it, and danmachi
instead of slapping a term with a defintion - isekai, onto danmachi
I think if you ditch the term "isekai" for a moment
and instead have two categories
Pure isekai
Native isekai
that it's easy to deliniate shows based on if they have a world change or not
Sure, and we have that
fantasy, isekai fantasy
and what my core point is, when I think about it logically, and step through what an "isekai" is
I think an isekai has nothing to do with the world change
because you can make that arbitrary
and I just can't agree with that. It has to have some sort of transport
so we've created a term, like "Soulslike" that you intuitively can feel what it means
but it's hard to place
so we attribute an isekai to be a "transported to another world" story
rather than the core element of the genre
it literally means other world though
I think if we were not using a moon rune term
and using english
and you called danmachi a native other world show
that would sound more retarded
I think when the genre was labled "isekai"
it was done because the easiest way to achieve the feeling of
exploring a world from the vantage point of someone unaccustomed to it
is to drop someone into another world
okay, but that is not an isekai
and trying to nail down an emerging genre is hard
that is its own thing, that isekai is a subset of
if you mean the hidden dungeon only I can enter
by spookys definition I think it fits

I just think this is an issue of pigeonholing too many things into one definition
maybe its the math nerd in me, but I think of all this shit (and all definition shit) and set theory
there isn't going to be a right answer because the meaning of the name has no practical significance
you can have terms that are just subsets of larger terms
with overlap
it's used to give people a reference on what something might be like
or more specifically to help with marketting
there's no other genre where you can write a story out of being in that genre as easily as you can an "isekai"
just by defining the nature of the world change to be slightly different
sure, but if you call goblin slayer a native isekai, that tells me literally nothing
instead, that should change something from a pure isekai into a native isekai
other than maybe it has something to do with him being in a different world maybe idk
