Finished steins;gate (still need to do the E25 OVA and the movie)
It was fun, second half of the show had more problems than the first half
overall a solid 8/10
he should have known max did not send a text saying 'don't change your phone', that was painfully obvious especially because he knew she worked for facebook
also not a fan of the deterministic nature of the show where deaths are certain unless they change things enough. It makes zero sense why tututu girl kept dying, even going so far as to be pushed in front of a train by accident.
the quest to undo all the things they changed was a neat way to explore time travel as a mechanic though
I am also glad the time machine was basically never used and it was mostly limited to sending messages/memories back the entire show

Ah. Yeah that is a semi unique twist on the multiple universes interpretation of timetravel
The whole alpha/beta line concept is pretty well explained even if it's a little contrived imo
I think the way they handled time travel itself is one of the better ways I've seen
beyond just basic time looping
which is the best version
I also really just like the atmosphere of the show, the whole setup for everyone being together and just messing around in their little room
yeah, the shows strong suit is its characters
partly why I liked the first half of the show more than the second tbh
I know people say that's part of what makes the VN so "great" but I think the anime is pretty comfy in that regard

I think character wise, the weakest semi main character was the crt shop owner because they did not set up what happened with him at all
