86 was ok

I'm conflicted on the new episode

I think they should have done something a little different

Alright, I am all caught up on 86 after having rewatched all of part 2.

First and foremost. I liked part 2 much more than initially upon rewatch. I think my initial inclination to not liking it as much was because, part 1 was a complete and perfect story

legitimately, part 1 could have ended the story at episode 9 hopeful ending or 11 depressing ending and been a complete story.

I am a bit tilted with the most recent episode that lena and shin did not get to talk

agreed on the cockblock

which is why I was hoping they'd alter the anime

they also didn't do a good enough job selling her death

I think everything other than the cockblock part of them meeting on the field was amazing though

and undermined the whole airdrop section with all the military politics

oh yeah, the ep was pretty af

I mean, I never assumed she was dead. It made little sense to offscreen her

Overall, I am happy with the episode even if it is a bit sad that they did what they did

I thought they were going to adapt her route 1 minute per episode

I might have to rewatch 86 part 2 a few more times once its fully out to fully appreciate it

The music of part 2 is growing on me. Its less of Sawano and more of the other guy

I still prefer to ost to part 1 more

I agree, Part 1 is really strong

which is amazing because they took SO many liberties with the adaptation

the novels are nothing like the show

I legitimately cannot think of any ways I would change part 1 to make it better

part 2, there is some tonality stuff as I said

her friend is a little too retarded in part 1

but I think part 1 legitimately is a perfect story in its first 8 episodes, and also a perfect different story if you include the next 2 minus the foreshadowing at the end of 11

It is one of the only shows I can think of where it could have ended earlier, or ended where it did, and both endings being satisfactory for different reasons

And 86 as a whole kind of sits on the fence, as to what "magic" is actually in the world or not
