statistically speaking, the odds of him hitting anything was basically zero
he seemed surprised
when saitama came back
I think it is possible saitama could have, in the brief second he was still in the atmosphere, course adjusted to hit the moon by imparting a force on the air, but he also seemed surprised he landed on the moon
so I think it was just a case of "yes this happened just accept that it did"
