Yeah
I read through 3, then skimmed though 4-7
1 was clearly meant to be a one-off
Even the loli in 2 wasn't enough to save it
At the very end of vol 7 they finally kiss
And it's super anticlimactic
I honestly don't even know what the purpose of volumes 3-7 are
1+a slightly longer epilogue
would have been perfect

The manga/LN business feels like it has a lot of notable early deaths
I think that makes sense though because a lot of those take a long time to finish
whereas with normal authors, normally the books are only released when they are done
