I don't know how I feel about rating any season of Re:Zero really high by itself

all-together, sure

cour 1 was great, 2 bad, 3 great

it's just weird to me to try to rate half-a-season I guess

I can rate season 2 part 1 high by itself

season 1 no

season 1 ranged from alright to bad

season 2 is only half done

I think they moved slower than I would have preferred, other than Enchilada being a really good "new" character most of the last season was setup

that is true, I think on its own it is pretty good though

the roswall stuff was neat

still not explaining his actual gimmick though

the roswal reveal that he knew about the time looping was really good

I think the anime doesn't do the mystery part of arc 4 justice

but it definitely handles the story elements well

it doesn't do it at all

anime spoiled the intro

sanctuary still hasn't been fully explained in the anime

My favorite part of arc 4 was the fact it was almost like an escape room

it had a really good mystery

but

anime can't handle that well

if I didn't know any better, I would have said it felt like a VN adaptation

the Sanctuary parts

that's kinda true spooky

where they pick a route and ignore all the supporting detail from other routes

they're condensing like

I understand the choice they made not to show that

make the anime less slow

I don't think you need to adapt all 20-30 lives

I mean some were useless just testing stuff

but you can't tell me there aren't episodes where nothing happens

there's the major ones you need to adapt

the number of loops he goes through, to get the tiniest bits of information, is why Enchillada's deal is so appealing, and terrifying that doesn't come through in the anime, where he should accept

like the one after he talks about the stuff to the witch

there's major ones that HAVE to be adapted

but the one where he just gets yeeted by garfield twice(?) they probably don't need to as much
