A lot of modern popular series (even in Japan) are also just softcore hentai
more and more magazines/serializes are greenlighting them
Replying to taxes #tzfi this one ive been following for like 3 years and is probably my favorite
big reason i like this is because there's a very clear way the world is portrayed that even if it plays on tropes it flips back around to unique concepts and turns over and over
sometimes a fantasy story where things feel even a bit foreign even if a lot is the "same"
I think I appreciate now, more and more, how hard it is to have a manga with good pacing
excluding SoL stuff
and even then, so many series run out of that initial steam
and then just *exist* for years
I can shit on LNs for being needlessly long, but they can at least progress on an actual timescale in the real world
manga don't have that luxary
so poor planning, or wanting to write in circles
is just annyoing
and so many series just become a psuedo-SoL
they reach some sort of status quo
and just stay the same until I stop checking for updates

also this is the series I was thinking of when I said this, it's one of the top (views and sales) manga in Japan rn
despite being quite literally just porn
Replying to Garbage #garbageatgaming There are a good amount of authors who just need to swap to only doing manuscripts or hop to a light novel or they are just going to die before the work is finished.
there's something comedic when the author themselves realizes this (or sales dip and they're told to wrap it up)
chapters become text dumps
trying to advance the world and setup very obvious plot points

I am still liking oshi no ko, I guess it has not gotten to the part where it gets really bad
I've liked it about as much as S2
It is entirely possible, like kaguya, it just skips a ton of shit and does an anime original ending
and you will have people complaining about it despite the stuff it skips not being good

"A Certain Scientific Railgun" Manga Officially Ends March 27th after a 19 years run. Anime Season 4 is Officially ANNOUNCED.
I can't believe Misaka fucking dies
Maybe we get a full adaptation eventually
I am sure JC staff will finish it
I think the team doing the anime for railgun was just better, with a better team index could have been a similar tier (I like S1 and S2 quite a bit still)
Are you going to watch ITEM with everyone this year
I have high hopes, its the director of railgun
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131
i can’t believe the last 4 years of the manga was a flashback
