(i.e. cutting back to a reaction shot that you already used to mean something else). And it then proceeds to go "BUT WHAT IF THEY DID DO IT, WHAT WOULD THE SCENE MEAN THEN" I'm like "The fuck" if you're going to analyze the shot composition of a work, and you yourself change the shots used in this composition, at that point you're just analyzing your own fanfiction.

Also reusing footage, would just make the show look cheap. AND LAZY. Recycling footage for a different effect doesn't make something more meaningful, it would just mean the animators are slacking off, which is beneath the standards we hold Death Note to.

I don't see people analyzing Gundam Wing saying "WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN TROWA BLOWS UP THE LEOS the exact same way but with different backgrounds, in 4 to 7 different episodes".
