I think the season that just finished ended up being pretty good, I wish Takopii wasn't half-length and there were a couple other shows that had promise but didn't live up to it

I'm a little concerned how many studios seemed to have production issues or significantly degraded animation quality after a few episodes

anyway here's my final list of shows worth mentioning 5* Clevatess Takopii no Genzai 4* Dainanaoji S2 Dandadan Dr. Stone S4 Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku Mizuzokusei no Mahoutsukai Ruri no Houseki Silent Witch - Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru S2 Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Nai jan, Muri Muri! Yofukashi no Uta S2 3* Ame to Kimi to Fermat no Ryouri Food Court de, Mata Ashita. Isekai Mokushiroku Mynoghra Jidou Hanbaiki ni Umarekawatta Ore wa Meikyuu wo Samayou S2 Kamitsubaki-shi Kensetsuchuu. Koujo Denka no Kateikyoushi Turkey!

City was my biggest disappointment, and either Water Mage or Turkey were my biggest surprises

Silent Witch could have been a 5 had it actually built towards anything

Dr. Stone has reached the Fairy Tail point where I can't tell how good/bad it actually is, but I'm very invested into it

unless the last episode is crazy, I think it settled into a comfortable groove

Call of the Night and Dandadan are the most inconsistent good shows

where there will be these couple epsiodes stretches that suck

and then hit with a couple banger eps back-to-back

Takopii is my show of the season overall

actually there's a 13th episode of silent witch next week

More of the same, they spoke japanese more than episode 1

it was mostly that, they did go to the countryside for last episode and the final episode coming up

Dress up darling was way more zoomer in how the show presented itself this season, and I agree with spooky's take about call of the night having some less good episodes sandwiching episodes I really liked

Panty and stocking was surprisingly good, I expected it to be shit

I really like puniru, good slime show

Lowest scoring show I watched this season is shield hero, but that is funny bad

Vending machine was kind of a nothing show. It certainly was a sequel to vending machine

I like Dress Up Darling and the source, but the anime moves too slow

I liked season 1 more, but I did like season 2

of all the recent popular romcom shows, it also feels the least creative

That genre is kind of locked down with dangers for me, so everything has to be scaled against that as being my favourite romcom

it was not a series that needed 2 dozen recurring side characters, and for the main characters to learn the same lessons 10 times each

the socially dumb MCs doesn't work as well when it's a semi-realistic setup, versus a pure absurdist romcom

CR won't have enough series to warrant it, but it's at least more reasonable than paying them for streaming anime

there's a lot of things you can do with manga to be a value-add

i wonder if CR would have access to scans early though a lot of companies dont trust outside media corps with early scans for translations because constant leaks viz is EXTREEMLY tight lipped and aggressive about leaks due to this and previous scenarios

so unless your name is viz they usually end up being a lot slower than fan scans

yep, AoT leaks were absurd

fan scans for the top 25-50 series are near instant and I doubt CR will have any sort of quality there

but hey, they can prove me wrong and kill the fan scene for another medium
