Shield hero is so funny
why did they introduce family drama in the penultimate episode
Can we go back to fighting the Waves pheonix not japanese
Right? It very quickly bacame one of my top animes of all time

I still think the anime could have ended on episode 9, 11, or where it actually ended and I would have been more or less fine with it
in hindsight with S2, I am glad it got to where it did, but if it was just a single core of anime, I think it would have been fine
You also got to dodge the fact that the episode after the explosion before lena shows up was delayed 86 days
so they left people on the explosion cliffhanger for multiple months

Replying to Dane #princelydone I fully expected the 86 five man squad to actually die when they went beyond the borders and for the story to follow the Alba woman. The show really subverted my expectations and then they kept doing fakeout deaths because they cant afford to kill off any of the main cast lol
After the first fakeout, I just accepted the main cast was not dying
I wanted them to do a Lena perspective movie
I agree with her not being in the show at all other than brief instances for the second half, because it makes the payoff more impactful
Every scene she did show up in in part 2 was a great scene so I don't disagree with liking when she showed up
first half of the story was Lena's character arc and saving Shin's brother, second half of the story was shin being saved (from his mental suffering)
So she really did not need to be there, so I respect the show for sidelining her when it was needed
I agree, and I think you could have done the anime following her for the second half instead and still got a good anime, but the way they did it was good still
also iirc from spooky telling me, they changed the structure so much from the light novels, they combined the lena and 86 parts in season 1, those were originally different light novels
86 was something that was written to never have more, but then people liked it so he had to retcon some stuff and continue it
actually image how less good the show would be if the first half was just the 86 and did not cut between them and lena's perspectives
