All anime
in no particular order
  • Frieren
  • Promised Neverland (season 1)
  • FMAB (unpopular opinion but the original FMA is actually worth watching the first few episodes. they kinda rushed the early characterization in FMAB)
  • HxH
  • Cowboy bebop
  • One Piece (honestly mainly pre timeskip)
  • Your Lie in April and Violet evergarden
  • Talentless Nana
im sure there are others, cant think of em rn
Kribbles anime
My unpopular opinion is I like the original FMA anime more than Brotherhood because it humanizes the bad guys better. I found the bad guys in FMA:B to be comically evil and simple characters

i really liked the plot point of the bad guys being born from human transmutation

I've never heard of Talentless Nana though, I'll check that out
quick note, the first episode seems super generic and like shitty vague superhero world building. its on purpose and relevent to the plot

I think the first arc up to the dragon fight is legitimately a 10/10 anime
the fight against Araba the dragon was definitely the best fight ive seen in recent animes (not that I watch a lot of animes)

pre timeskip over post is kinda crazy

haven't updated my mal in a while. onky shows im watching this season are water magician, 7th prince, and silent witch

anime just wasnt the best. love the early manga. hell i think the live action is doing the early content way better than the anime
Polar_ anime
Yea early anime suffered a lot from trying to adapt it to 1 chapter = 1 episode. Which is why I understand the Studio WIT remake.
Kribbles anime
I never finished it, it felt like it was very clearly pushing to be a massive cryfest which isn't what I was going for. But I know a lot of people who love Your Lie in April

I dont mind shows that want to make you cry or w/e i just couldn't get invested in the characters at all
mint anime
i love a good cryfest show. anything that makes you feel strong emotions is always special. white album 2, silent voice, toradora, angel beats, charlotte, plastic memories, anohana, probably alot more
Kribbles anime
I have no idea what separates them apart from one another. I think maybe I didn't anticipate Charlotte of Silent Voice being a cryfest, and it was just a real show that turned sad.
mint anime
yeah. those very standard movie ones, you go in knowing its gonna be like that. the charlotte angle beats ones, whoever that guy is, those are subtle
Kribbles anime
Similarly, I get bothered by Del Toro's recent films that are very basic and have zero subtlety on who's good and bad. Like, La espada del diablo is up there as one of my favorite movies
