thank you polu
immoral guild was good too, especially after the blurays fixed every issue I had with it when airing and enhanced it
I like when blurays add minutes of things to episodes
Makes rewatching things I like more exciting
Bad taste but understandable
And to be fair, there are some real stinkers in that category too
the hot spring isekai one from a couple seasons ago sucked
I am excited for chained soldier S2 by passione
I think they are going to make art with that one
Speaking of porn btw
He did it
mega success
I think this is just DL site sales, not even counting steam
I honestly don't know, spooky or Max might be more knowledgable about how porn game sales usually are
I think 100k + whatever steam is is pretty damn good though
I'm by no means an expert
but 100k sales on DLSite is absurdly high

You could have given me 100 guesses for how this weeks apocalypse hotel would have went, I would not have gotten this
great episode
The random fight sequence gives me flashbacks to the season where dragon maid 2 had the really hype fight that was just better than the rest of the anime that season

Site Update - 14th of May 2025
Hi everyone! We're rolling out two updates today: one highly requested enhancement and one important rules clarification. You can now once again tailor your reading experience by filtering out content you don't want to see across the site. To set it up, go to Settings -> Blocks -> Tag Filters...
forums.mangadex.orgwhy did mangadex try to become legit?
they were an out and proud pirate website forever, and then a few years after batoto shut down and they blew up they seemed to get all regretful and started unirronically posting cringe "support the official release" bullshit and removing certain series
they never fixed comments, their forum sucks, they've done zero site work in years
I have to assume their founder left or died or w/e, and whoever took over is too innept to run a website and swing his dick around when these DMCAs come in
oh, Mangadex is just dead
got it
yeah they lost everything
idk if their own users have woken up to "oh every series I follow is gone" because they broke all the integrations
and the copyright cuck bots are out in full force too
I have talked to the mangadex people, it turns out they are absolutely retarded
"mangadex shouldn't support piracy so this is a good thing"
said unirronically
What the fuck
imminantly, there will be a 2nd wave of these and they will just die
and all the copyright cockroaches can scurry off to some Discord and huff their own farts
I think these sites all have the crunchyroll dream of becoming the defacto legal monopoly (at least briefly)
Yeah mangadex is dead though
I think Nip & KR printed media also have the most retarded monetization schemes out there
which is why the "support the official" release people confuse me, because I know not all of it can be performative
some of them actually probably do load up their point-card, and pay 10 gems per page they read of new officially licensed chapters
and then are ok with chapter blackout dates, as if reading manga needs to be delivered like boomers are used to for their sports leagues
I think if some official site came along and it was a buck a volume and it had basically everything, it'd do well
But no site will ever do that
I also don't think it would do that well
Make it like steam with a friends list and achivements and what not
now we're talking
lol
Achivement get, got dat dog in ya for reading whatever chapter of fullmetal that is
printed media is weird, because you decisively need filler content or else there's no value
but if you don't properly reward the GOOD series, then wtf are you doing
so sites like JNovel club have interesting models, that fall apart in practice
and Viz and all the JP official sites are just so terrible
I'm also not at all advocating to not just pirate everything
I agree with pirating everything
but with some stuff I can understand how someone can arrive at "I'll just pay"
not with manga though
I really can't point to a single place where that's not absolutely fucked
if they wanted a market they'd make a good product with inherent value (service, not the manga itself)
Anime and manga both, all official services are dogshit, have always been dogshit, and will continue to be dogshit
I also have the bias that I think ebooks are inherently worthless as a product, so digital sales are a joke to me
maybe you're right that if each volume was 99 cents (like they used to all be) then I'd not laugh it out of the room
but digital shit is now the same price as phyiscal books or nearly the same
the idea you'd pay $10-$20 for a pdf
is just laughable
yeah, full agree
if it was super cheap and the service was decent, I could see value in it, but If I have to pay near full price, I would rather just own the physical book
