This whole season was kind of filler in a sense that other than a few things that are important, this could have been an anime original arc and I wouldn't know

what I meant by split,
I think "killing" her, sending he back to heaven, would make for a more satisfying conclusion
and then you can have an ambiguous ending where Syr is working at the bar again, and it's left up in the air what relation Freya's spark of divinity has with her vessel, if they're one in the same and being free of that burden is what allowed her to embrace the Syr part of her, or if Freya is "dead" and Syr is the empty vessel.
that's my re-write that I think makes it less status quo-y
