To derail this because I learned of it last night while talking to polu and garbage, the composer who did the music for sword isekai and gushing over magical girls is doing the passion show in the spring season, so I am now extra hyped for that

Replying to Dialga #god_of_time caught up with Shangri-la frontier, This mecha arc is so boring lmao. that might be personal bias, because i do not care about mecha stuff at all, but i really just wanna go back to the main thing. I felt this way with the fighting game side-arc in s1 too, its just so meh.

full agree, it's random in a charming way but the longer it goes on the more I check out

that said, weathermon is a hard act to follow up, and the show will not feel as good until they get to the next huge arc
love does not matter to real gamers
My issue with filler in the show isn't that it's not good, its that there's a finite amount of show we're ever going to get, and I'd rather they tell a complete story, even if a lot of it is just random stuff in the game that uses the world
I'm sure part of it is financial constraints to a point as well, you need to reuse mob models, hence why he fights scorpions for forever
but then that theory goes out the window when they just fuck off to an entirely different game to kill time in a plot-driven show
ig being fair, it's not completely "plot-driven", but it has interesting through lines that I'd prefer get some progression
The show is not fantastical, abstract, or non-conventional enough that I like it without the connecting plot holding it together
I think the show is carried by its characters, and I like seeing sunraku fuck around in other games
I can see why if you care more about the plot you would have the opinion Spooky has
