I thought the story had a redeeming part

only career goals were achieved in this story

and the series just randomly ends before most of those can happen anyway

just wait till the anime gets to the point that side characters get mini arcs to develop them and then never show up again

it's the worst ending for any series I've ever followed through to the end

I'll spare people a repeat of my rant

but even an extremely minor re-write could have easily improved it to a 5/10 satisfactory ending

or hell, even a decent one even if you keep the shitty last arc

Other series like SnK, I can make the argument they were so far out there, giving a mundane ending would have been a disapointment, and even if the ending we got was stupid, I don't hate the buildup to the ending

Oshi no Ko though, was a glacially slow moving train-wreck, where the fixes were so easy and so obvious

that even the bad endings it could have had became aspirational by the end

oshi no ko doesn't use any of the interesting side characters in the ending

and he just said fuck it and stopped

with OnK, I wonder if fans will just re-write the ending

well if they do I hope they realize what Akene's role was supposed to be

though setting that up might need rewinding to before movie arc

Akane just became Aka's narrator

Because he forgot that he already had Crow as a narrator

Or more likely, wanted the readers to forget about crow being in the story at all

No, I'd never recommend Oshi no Ko at this point to anyone, even if the anime is "good" to the point its at

if you're REALLY into animation, then its worth watching because it's an excellently animated show with great production

but as a piece of media the series is trash to me

the anime is really good up to where it is

a lot of these problems are stuff that happens later

I guess by virtue of him doing nothing with a lot of the setup, it retroactively makes the earlier stuff worse, but if you ignore that and pretend the setup means anything!
