(it never is, if the anime is bad, it is usually a systemic issue not an adaptation issue)
It isn't funny enough to be a comedy and the characters aren't interesting enough to be a drama. The world isn't interesting enough for an adventure manga and they dont focus enought on food for it to be a culinary manga. I don't know what it wanted to be. I dropped it around the chimera which is near the end because I got too bored with it. So unless it improved past that. I think it is not good.
