genuinely this is a problem with the 1 to 10 scale which makes people scared of rating anything they liked lower than 7, You'll notice that its always 8 or 9 as you said but also the stuff they dislike is always 3 or below because they cant use that middle ground as it might appear to be too "neutral" which would anger the haters and likers that might read the review. This is why I believe the 1 to 5 is the superior way to rate stuff as it allows for much more clear and precise rating. a 1 is hate and 5 is love and 3 is that it was meh, with anything inbetween being if you steered towards liking it despite its flaws or liking it but still seeing flaws. A 5 is a middle of the road show. If you are a 5/10 show, you are too bad to be worth watching
1-5 is the perfect scale, because each tier feels distinct
