It is a lot better than most CGI exclusive shows
it is not land of the lustrious, which is the gold standard
but it is not unwatchable
Lustrious is pretty great, but sadly never got a S2 because the studio went on to only make Beastars
and that studio is the only one who can handle a CGI only show
I don't think it's a crazy observation, but 3D shit looks less terrible when they can control the background complexity
Yeah, Polu and I were amused by the marketing for this show dialga
almost a year before they made a bunch of music videos
probably easier to compete with other MVs on MAL
This one is actually a MV, most anime MVs are absolute ass
the only ones that I think are really good are loli god and the oshi no ko music video
I watch all the ones for OPs/EDs for the anime I see and add them to my list
probably the lowest average score on my list is MVs
Also since you mentioned it was good after we brought it up because of Pix, I watched the girl who lept through time spooky

I can't discuss it yet because Polu has not seen it and we are going to do a mini bookclub for it
I don't think it has the most satisfying ending
but for the era, maybe that premise was less played out
(Since we are trying to slowly sell Pix on the idea of bookclubs until she suggests doing one)

There's something funny about an accomplished director having two extremes like this
1) Artsy anime shit
2) Digimon
Oh he is the same director for Summer Wars, I guess he gets a second chance when I watch that one
Wolf Children is his best movie
Belle is ok, mostly because I didn't like the art as much
Mirai is just GwLTT again
Summer Wars is good, with flaws

I just realised I have a rough way of counting how many distinct franchises of anime I have watched
That is how many folders I have my in Openings, Endings, and Inserts collection
It will be missing a few things that have no music, but otherwise fully complete
Oh +2 to that count, I forgot to add the movie I just watched and isekai Ojisan to the main folder
