Sanda
The story starts with Mita, a second year middle school student, getting attacked with a kitchen knife by his classmate Fuyumura. While Mita couldn't make sense of the situation at first, he gradually came to believe that Fuyumura's actions were just mean acts stemming off from the latter having a peculiar puberty phase. But that was all actuall...
myanimelist.netReplying to taxes #tzfi no one tells them their ideas are mis
it's also partially that (most people) only have one good story in them
in terms of making something non-formulaic and actually creative
you learn how to write stories the wrong way, because your one good story was something you knew inside and out
people who set out to write generic LNs usually have a lot of enduring success, because they can just follow trends and write decent slop
meanwhile the former try to crack at a 2nd series (sequel or not) and don't have the luxury of it being that idea, that's been in their heads for years
so they don't really know how to develop it, or really what to even do with it
idk if mangakas have an easier or harder time, art+writing versus LN-ers just writing
same issue when really good series are told to pad or stall for time, and the author doesn't really know how to just keep circling the story they want to tell
Replying to Garbage #garbageatgaming There is likely drawbacks to both
yeah, as a non-artist I don't have the context for how it feels to create visually and if that aids them. clearly it's a lot of additional work though
A1 after years of pure slop that is not well animated decided to become a studio that animates very well. Solo Leveling so far is a just okay show with pretty good animation and a average tier Sawano ost. I am sure the story gets worse as it goes, but for now it is passible
As far as overhyped shows go, it is leagues better than chainsaw man was at least
but that is more on a production end, not a story end I think
specifically where the anime is rn: I think there's a good premise, underneath some mid worldbuilding
which is enough to get me to like something
and yeah, CSM was such a letdown
same issue as Violet Evergarden
people were told to like it enough, that it came true
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 same issue as Violet Evergarden people were told to like it enough, that it came true (edited)
ok but
I keep hearing cope about how the anime ended just before the the story pops off in chainsaw man
I can't wait to see that also not be true
VEG's core story might be ok on its own, as a story
the anime though
...
I always confuse the two, is violet the vasaline coated anime or is that the rape one
vaseline sad girl one
yeah
it's a nothing show, that banks more on the feeling of being sad than bothering to write any actual emotional dialogue/interactions/anything
it banks on art and OST, to hope you forget about the show being a complete nothing show
is the core story fine, yeah sure there's a setup/resolution/whatever
but it's devoid of any of the actual emotion you'd assume it would have, given how it treats itself
and for context, I started watching the anime, dropped it, read the 2-vol LN a couple years later, went back and finished the show. Never watched the movies, never read the spinoff, I think its bad
I think writing emotionless muted characters almost never works, it takes away from the air of sadness and just makes everything feel frustrating.
It's the same complaint I leveled at Angel Beats, though I have far less memory of that show given that its been 10+ years
You know what show had raw emotion in its sad payoff
a certain lobotomised loli
lol
the raw emotion was anger
but still
And Polu, this is coming from someone who almost always likes these kind of stories/shows
Evergarden is one of the few where I feel generally frustrated watching the MC "heal" or "grow" or whatever word you want to throw on her development
ok Pika, now you have to watch it and decide whether Polu or I are more correct
That is not my genre of show, so I think I will end up more likely to agree with you purely because I do not like this genre
Although for all I know maybe this is just a re;zero season 2 situation where your opinion is just insane
