I did not actively read a ton, but I think my reading comprehension speed is pretty high, I think reading a lot early can help improve whatever your natural ability for that is though

phones became a major thing around grade 11/12 for me

grades 3-7 i just read shitty... western stories... then 8th grade we got laptops so i just read web novels and light novels until i learned of tachiyomi in like 10th grade and have been reading manga nonstop the past like 6-7 years

I got my cellphone in grade 12 because my mom wanted me to have one since I had to travel a bit to get to university

I was a late adopter though

manga also made me basically just drop anime all together out of disinterest of everything being an adpatation

but im also starting to find/consider most manga as of recent pretty shit, which i thought was me just being cynical and picky but seeing how literally everything keeps getting axed after like 10~ chapters

or they start off really good and then 1-2 arcs later became actually dogshit

i can appreciate good animation but i will always prefer a well drawn stunning two page panel to a good looking animated scene

made in abyss is a good example of that

OST is definitely one of the main reasons I prefer anime to written work

absolutely incredible art in the manga, mogs the anime in every single capacity but the animes OST is pretty nutty

which validates its existence

but the mangaka for MiA is an incredible artist

I think it is physically impossible to have the same level of detail as a still image for an animation consistantly for the entire thing

there is not enough time and funding to justify doing it

I think the made in abyss anime looks about as good as many anime movies

there are obviously the super "this is a masterclass in art" movies that mog everything

but I think most movies are not much more impressive than top tier anime art wise
