3rd one was alright, 1st one was bad and 2nd was in between

The animation in the first movie was too "we are high art" for my liking
they toned it down for the other two
Bakemonogatari was a different kind of "We are high art" animation, but that one annoyed me less (took a bit to get used to though)
shaft is a very up their own ass kind of studio

the other monogatari seasons were less of that though
so at least it was not the entire series
They did the same shit with dance in the vampire bund
pani poni dash was not like that, but it was also super fucking weird
Fate extra had parts that were like that, but extra was also just absolute fucking garbage beyond that

I feel like the bulk of people who don't pirate anime at this point are dub watchers so honestly, probably a smart buisness move
this is going to probably sound weird, but I kind of respect the subscription model CR uses
their service is bad because they don't put in 1/10th the effort pirate sites do, but their sub model of "you can watch anything you want for free after a week" is a huge part of why general retards are into anime at all
