my working theory is that the studio owns the rights to this since Lose if defunct now,
An actual project fell through for w/e reason
and they thought it would be more financially lucrative to have their staff work on this, than do something anime original
Looking into how many of the staff are new people, this might be a training thing more than anything
I like to imagine, they also win the rights to the game sales
