even more based
I trust the anime director to save any bad parts
all of his work has been good
Most characters work well because of kazuma
megumin has enough going that she is fine by herself
But darkness only really works as a side character to kazuma being a straightman
I think all of the background megumins (including YunYun) are just such weak characters to play off of
it's crazy that anime cecily is so good, and I think it's because she's the first real secondary character in the show
since Komekko is more of a plot device and/or pet
I'm probably short changing her, I like that she sets up funny situations
so yeah, her and cecily have been the two that have really worked
I think the problem with the other crimson demons is they are all essentially the same character type, which megumin is already partially
so having them does not really add much to the diversity of the cast
they're probably good background characters
I can imagine (like the movie) having the main 4 interacting with them would be funny
but when you try to have them carry their own role, they all just kinds fall down
I think you need a cast of characters who are not them interacting with them yeah
their entire gimmick is "Look at this wacky village"
but if there is nothing to compare it to, it is just a wacky village
YunYun is supposed to be the straight character
but it just doesn't work
I am trying to figure out the pacing, was the first part all one volume or was it multiple, same question with water town was that an entire volume
6 episodes in the village, 2 in watertown, I almost feel like they spent too much time in the village

if there's one scene from the anime you should watch Bopit, it's the Pyunpyun scene
other than Ep1 , it's the only one that I think a manga purist would really enjoy

I have no idea how any anime compares to its manga, but that is irrelevant to the quality. I think Oshi no ko has been pretty good
its not a 10/10 masterpiece, but it is quite well made
it's really good
that's the one scene that's not really in the mange, there are 3? panels dedicated to it
and imo it's one of the best adds
a lot of the scenes in the manga, require you to imagine "something spectacular happening" and the fact the anime comes even close to pulling it off as often as it does is amazing
take Aqua filming on set with the puddles, manga might just give you some random frames and tell you to "imagine how awesome this would be"
and the anime actually has to show it
and does a pretty fucking good job
