The thing that will probably get Google to refund you without question is the fact that the app is no longer available on the app store. Since you can no longer download the app and the in-app store is offline, then it makes sense from their end to declare the product as "defective or not working" since you cannot use it anymore. CR might be upset, but frankly I do not care what they think.
iOS users however are limited to 30 days from purchase date to ask for refunds.
