I think if I wasn't a PC gamer, I might be more inclined to collect physical discs/boxes and the like
but that died with my 1,000 games on Steam
not to even mention all the other failed services I've used over the years (RIP those games)
I like collecting stuff, but movies/music/games don't scratch that itch for me
I'm not sure exactly why
I like collecting books though
I think with games, I've been burned by physical media so many times as a kid,
and non-steam digital platforms
So, I took up computers when I was REALLY young
lol Fire
and I would say my care for discs/floppys wasn't the greatest
and most CD readers would destroy a disc after some time anyway
So a lot of my game I had my dad help me pirate
and burn to R/W CDs
we had a big folio of those
absoultely gigantic
I still have a lot of them
but plenty have been lost, or don't work, and all will fail at some point anyway
so I enjoy just having everything on Steam
which I (blindly) trust to not fuck me
old PC games, that had boxes were better
but even then, nothing was standardized
so I'm not sure I could have even put them on a shelf if I wanted to
it'd be like an oversized book section at a library
I think you underestimate how crazy PC game boxes were
Here's LGR's
he shops around to collect any he can find
at Goodwills and thriftstores and such
Vinny
you live in the Black capital of the world
how do you not have goodwills every 20 ft
Man, you really don't have a lot
I thought you were on Long Island
ik
you do have some
but it's strange
there's like a deadzone of good wills
on your island
what did you do
there are ~10 on your whole island
