There's a way to fix tolls
have it be a per-day charge, not a per toolbooth charge
the whole East Coast uses the same toll system
work pays for my tolls
so I abuse the shit out of them
but when I drive to PA or NY, I incur something like $40 in tolls each way
DC tolls are ~$10, spread out over a few checkpoiints, PA is $15, and then NJ is $10
you can't avoid NY tolls Bio
the bridges
are the toll checkpoints
San Fran is also terrible
entering the city is a $10 charge
fuck that bopit
it screws over so many people
oh lol,
I thought you meant the city tax
get rid of 80% of the government
honestly, at the federal level it isn't even that bad
state and local government overreach is what's really cancerous
tollboth workers make $80k a year in Massachusetts
there's a lottery system to hand out the jobs Bopit
because everyone wants one
I have a cousin, who got one of the slots
and he had been trying every year for ~10 years
since he graduated school
New England has a long legacy of nepotism
and all government jobs are ways to ensure insular communities remain taken care of
