I was talking to my dad the other day
and Elon Musk came up in conversation
I've never; in my life, heard a more retarded take on freedom of speech from anyone
let alone my father
all ties back into the """insider trading""" that Musk got fined for
and his position was that Musk shouldn't be allowed to say anything, for fear of it affecting the stock market
granted, not quite that extreme, but that's what it boiled down to
he poses a danger to society, due to the fact that him doing ANYTHING affects billions in the stock market
smoking weed on Joe Rogan, insider trading
tweeting about movies, insider trading
mentioning philosophy insider trading
My dad's position, was literally that the SEC should appoint a lawyer, to vet anything that Musk says, anywhere in public
including online
both my parents became absolute anti-trump boomers over the last ~5 years or so
they watch CNN 4+ hours a day
and parrot whatever the TV tells them
I think my opinion of people directly relates to how much TV news and Late Night shows they watch
Democrat, Republican, whatever
I can't get over that they've all just become pundits
there are 1-2 real comedians left
everyone else is just a shill with a platform and a team of writers
There used to be good hosts on news programs too
but; whether it be Fox or MSNBC, they're all gone now
