The moral police seem to swap parties every couple decades
Playing to a base that wants to see government regulation shape population habits
Christians wanted to see the government regulate the shit out of media for a while
Now young liberals want to see the government restrict consumer choice
It always backfires though Gent
LGB acceptance rose, due to being ignored more than anything
rather than some top-down push for equality
the number of swear words in a song, or the size of a cup at 7-11
shouldn't be "moral" issues
there's a better word for it
but when your idelogy seeks to force itself down the throats of your electorate
it will always end poorly
The market will shake that out though
you don't need federal protections
enforcing morality?
yes, throughout all of history
it's never not been foolish
It is the most inefficient way to get what you want

If you define the protection of morals, as being broad enough to cover all interpersonal interactions
then it's going to encompass everything
