I want to build a desk pc
So many poor choices Max
Reggie, the secret is to live in Virginia
and to just get second-hand shit from me
Oof
Or just drop shit off when you come here
>flying with GPUs
I'll pass
I have enough gpus
good ones?
I need cpus and mobos
I have 2 spare gtx 680s and a 660
I have an extra 1080, and really two extra 2060s
I have them stuck in a server that's not using them
then some older ones
770, 760
a pile of 420s
Well ,they're not extra per-say
they're in a server that doesn't need to encode though
now that I scrapped my docker box
I could use a second 1080 so i could experiment with how shit sli is still
I bought them for ~$150 each Max
But otherwise dont need gpus
which was too good of a deal to pass up
SLI is bad
Do the 1080s do nvlink, i dont remember
No
F
I think the TI cards might
1080TI 2080TI
The 1080 was honestly a pile of shit
Titans definately do
my 1080 has had a lot of power draw problems
but it's such a beast of a card
It cant run 4k and its overkill on 1440 and 1080
um... it can run 4k just fine
though, gaming at 4k is just dumb, period
Not in fps titles, it has frame buffer issues
Ray tracing is a scam
the Super cards are a scam
1440p is a meme that will never catch on
You can push about 55fps in most aaa titles with 4k on and a 1080 running overclocked
But man does it not like it
Same
I can't get over how so many games misreport their frame rate
or hitch constantly
"it's totally 60 FPS though"
Minecraft is the worst about that
yeah
200fps and noticeable stutter, kek
Well
Locked 120
I need more ideas for computers to build
after my streaming server
I want to build something
I want to play with a new ryzen chip
NAS should be everyone's first secondary computer imo (not that that really counts)
I dont really have a use for NAS yet
in 5 years, I'd reccomend a docker host
but fuck Docker right now
