The Apple monitor is in-line with what current $3,000 tvs and monitors look like

XDR could be better, than some of the other dynamic range solutions out there

but software was already not worth $1,500 - $2,000

how do you justify a monitor that expensive that can't even go at 144hz

it's certainly not worth 4k

nothing could drive it at 144Hz, the pitch is for their version of HDR, this XDR thing

maybe they should actually be innovative and make a 6k 144hz monitor

so, they are ahead of the rest of the industry

most top-of-the-line panels, are only just pushing 400 local dimming zones

they've got almost 600

218 ppi isn't cutting edge

but for a 32'' display, I wouldn't be shocked if it was industry leading

optimistically, it's still asking you to spend $3,000 for Apple's software

4k 144hz hdr with gsync with good peak brightness is the dream

OSX has a lot of special software for it

that's its only reason for existing

a lot of production stuff

its very hard to fuck up basic tasks on a mac

but basic tasks are all they end up being good for

they exist to develop iOS apps because apple won't let you do that on decent OSes

I used to know people growing up who had Macs, and when they eventually got computers they always got MAcs

I went to a private school and was still relatively internet literate in 8th grade

but there's no concept for anything past the top 10 websites that they had pre-isntalled apps for on their phone

I finally got them to sorta use a desktop for some stuff

But it usually results in me having to baby them through simple tasks like printing word docs

I get the joy of doing that at work sometimes
