there's no reason to piss off the small number of desktop users
who will just circumvent this anyway
I mean... at the most basic level
just run a script, rather than an extension
not to even touch upon the other 100 ways to circumvent this
@Phijkchu_Pikachu you hear that? you normie
I'd just switch browsers at that point
Even Pika though, can probably manually add an extension
or that
there are 3 step wiki-how tutorials
barring that, they'd probably just use Tapermonkey or something
And then after that, install Brave or some other knock-off Chrome browser
Also, looking at what's actually going to """kill""" adblockers
all this means, is extensions need to optimize their shit
and not rely on bloated lists to block shit
Leg, sit down for this
No one wants to use FF
I use FF once in a blue moon, when I need to have 4 or 5 different accounts logged in
old ie is the most useful extra browser
old ie genuinely allows you to break a lot of sites now
It's great
Edge has no reason to exist at this point, between Chrome and ie
I can't pretend that I give FF all the chances in the world
for as much as Chrome slowly becomes worse usability wise each update
it's not like FF is at some great point, that negates everything else
my custom shit aside, I'm not switching from something bad to something mediocre
FF may have more stability issues, but that's not the make or break thing

It would take a lot for Chrome to actually get bad enough that people would jump shit
I hate a lot of what they do, but I can't pretend much of it (especially the gay UI stuff) really matters
Downloads keep getting worse and worse on Chrome
but still
are 1000x better than the stupid FF tab
lots of little things like that are what keep me away, FF doesn't nail all the QoL shit that would actually get me to switch
it's a mixed bag, just like Chrome
That is probably my most hated feature of FF
and God
the fact "all downloads" opens a new tiny window
Chrome butchered theirs a few years back too
made everything fucking ginormous
