Omnialord on reddit posted the source code for Pokémon Go Incenses, which revealed that you actually get more Pokémon while moving. While standing still, an Incense spawns a pocket monster once every five minutes, but when you move you encounter a Pokémon every minute (for every 200 meters you travel).
